Attila the Hun in film, music and opera

Written by on February 28, 2022

There are many epic people in history, some heroes, some not, Attila the Hun is not a hero, but he sure was epic. Murray Dahm at medievalists.net writes about who he was, what he did, and as part of the lengthy article goes into detail on film, plays, operas and the many musical numbers created around Attila’s life story. While not a hero (certainly not to us here) we thought you may enjoy reading the entire article and more importantly the music created about him. Here are a few of the musical selections with more at the article including films and other media:

Attila: Ezio-Attila Duet, Prologo

Elkésett a békevágy

Attila (Billy Joel) – Self Titled Album (1970) COMPLETE (yes that Billy Joel)

Dixie Dregs – Attila the Hun (woo!)

Hunnerkongens Sorgsvarte Ferd over Steppene

Attila

Attila the Hen

Those of you that scrolled to the bottom get to hear the best of the bunch!
