Tune In and Celebrate The Hobbit’s 85th Anniversary and Bilbo’s Birthday!

Written by on September 19, 2022

On September 21st, 1937 the world was changed when J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit was published and unleashed the lives of Hobbits, Elves, Dwarves, and Men of middle-earth on to a public hungry for fantasy and adventure. The Hobbit’s successor, The Lord of the Rings, was published about 17 years later but happens to celebrate the birthday of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins on September 22nd (i.e. Hobbit Day), and while we here at HAMR celebrate all things Tolkien every day, we want to honor these two dates in particular … and we have a party of special magnificence planned!

Tune in all day Wednesday, September 21st starting at 9:00 AM PDT through Friday, September 23rd ending at 11:00 PM PDT for curated audio readings, sound bites, soundtracks (including the new The Rings of Power), songs, and musical adventures honoring Bilbo and his nephew Frodo Baggins, and the anniversary of The Hobbit.

Visit our Programs page for listening options and updated schedules, grab a few friends, pull up a toadstool, grab a pint and maybe some pipeweed, sit back, tune in, and enjoy a trip into middle-earth at Heroes and Mortals Radio!
